Hicking

With a superb natural environment, clean fresh air, beautiful scenery and the tranquillity of the countryside - why not go for a walk?!

Whether you're hiking over a long distance, going for a short stroll, following a loopback trail or just getting a bit of exercise and doing something different, you'll find something to like here where there are outings to suit all levels of fitness (from easy to difficult) using various modes of transport (on foot, on a mountain bike, by donkey, on snowshoes etc.) and focussing on various themes (heritage, botany, cross-border area, environmental awareness etc.). Whatever you choose, the surroundings will give you a feeling of well-being.

The plain has, as its backdrop, the Salève, Vuache and Jura mountains, hamlets with their own special bell towers, orchards and the Franco-Swiss border.

From Mont Salève, you can see the Genevois area, Geneva with its lake and fountain, the Alps and Mont-Blanc.

From Mont Vuache, there are the same superb views but from a different angle, and you can feel the gentler climes of the Rhône Valley.

Walking is a job for enthusiasts. Here, you'll find mountain guides and instructors more than willing to share the best views, stories and memories!
